Smokin Eyes kit

Published July 24, 2012 by kylamatriano

Smoky eyeshadows are often the best look for a  night out, but some eyeshadows can make others look tired. Benefit’s Smokin Eyes is different as it brightens the eyes instead and does not look overdone. It has a slightly different texture compare to other Benefit eyeshadows as it is more matte. The kit comes with an eyeliner pencil, eyebrow wax, eyebright powder, highlighter, the pewter base shadow and charcoal. smokin eyes kitIt also comes with a very small tweezer and the brush for contouring.

It is more expensive than the Big Beautiful Eyes Kit, but it is certainly worth the money. The colour is intense, long lasting and doesn’t crease, or oxidise. This eyeshadow can also work for those with small eyes as it helps them pop.

Big beautiful eyes, erase paste and girl meets pearl

Published July 24, 2012 by kylamatriano

Big Beautiful Eyes kit is one of my first kit from Benefit. And at first I didn’t think it would be any different from other eyeshadows, but I was wrong. The eyeshadow has a shimmery, soft and powdery texture like other Benefit eyeshadows it covers well and gives enough colour. The kit comes with a powder liner, boiing concealer and eyeshadow base,  mauve eyeshadow and 2 brushes: It is a good makeup during the day and night.

Next is erase paste which has a creamy texture and is very easy to blend for covering dark cirlcles. It’s in a small jar and it costs around £20, but if you only use it around the eye area it can lasts up to one year of usage. Performance wise it is the best concealer that I have tried and always go back to it;  It provides a natural coverage without looking cakey or overly powdery.

One of my least favourite is the Girl Meets pearl face liquid. It has a lovely smell but other than that I find it quite useless. It can only help moisturize dry patches on your skin but doesn’t do anything else. I’d rather use That Gal primer if I want to add something to my moisturiser before applying my foundation.

MAC lash 31 for small eyes

Not all people are blessed with long lashes that can be enchanced easily with mascara. I have bought many mascaras and coated my eyeslashes more than 5 times to subtle changes until I tried fake lashes! Mac lashes for example, is one the best lashes that I have tried: they’re natural looking and good quality. Compare to other brands Mac lashes are easy to apply and the adhesive glue dries quickly. My favourite lash is number 31 lash as it is long and big enough for my eyes. I tried other Mac lashes however, it is only 31 that looks natural on me.

Benefit velvety eyeshadows daytime look

Published July 23, 2012 by kylamatriano

I have always been looking for eyeshadows that are intense enough and one that doesn’t require several applications. One brand that never fails is the new Benefit Velvety eyeshadow: it provides enough coverage without looking fake and has bright soft colours. It opens up the eyes and perfects the skin as if it was airbrushed.

In this picture I am using leggy and hustle from Naked 1. I used the velvety eyeshadow as a base and hustle as the main eyeshadow. It creates a pink and purple look that can be worn during the day or on a night out. Both eyeshadows don’t crease and can last throughout the night. You can add a smoky effect by using more shades from the Naked Palette for a night out look.

Do not forget to moisturise and use a primer to help intensify the colours of these eyeshadows. You can also use the shadows wet.  Images:  http://www.benefitcosmetics.co.uk and http://www.houseoffraser.co.uk

Best eyeliner for green eyes

Published July 23, 2012 by kylamatriano

in shade Teak

The first eyeliner that I have tried was from Stila which comes with an eyeshadow and a smudger. Compare to the traditional pencil liner which you have to sharpen: this eyeliner will not drag the skin around your eyes and won’t hurt. The colour is also buildable and looks good on any eye colour but stunning in green eyes.

I don’t have green eyes, but I wear green contacts and this eyeliner makes it stand out more: it gives you that extra drama in your eyes that makes them more noticeable.

It is a brownish black colour and therefore is not too heavy and can be built up if desired. It is not available anymore in the UK, but it is, in the US. It’s affordable and can lasts from clocking out to clocking in. Try it and see for yourself.
